REFRESHED! I admit - I feel more hope for the future! The first article explains why… >>>>>>> After a dreary winter, spring is refreshing and represents to me a newness of life, a burst of cleanliness from the first spring showers! Also when we do the right thing, we can have that feeling of joy, and peace in our lives!

”Whoa unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” **************************************************************** You may want to ask yourself, “Does this apply to my life today?” “Am I setting a good example of integrity, especially for my family to see?

HE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A HERO!
|
Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting he is alone. I am sure there are many men and women who have made that same commitment. The difference is that he made the news and was mocked!
You know I teach and preach about the importance of AVOIDING EXPLOSIONS in our lives and this has everything to do with making good CHOICES and then good CONSEQUENCES will likely follow! |
After writing the April parenting article, I asked my daughter if talking about choice and consequences was getting old. It is not on purpose; however, nearly every article I write ends up coming back to choices and consequences. Then we discussed how it really is what life is about! We make choices continually, all day long, and those choices will affect our lives, possibly forever!
1. Integrity
Integrity – Honesty – Truthfulness – Honor – Veracity – Uprightness - Reliability in·teg·ri·ty [ in téggrətee ] 1. possession of firm principles: the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles or professional standards. 2. completeness: the state of being complete or undivided 3. wholeness: the state of being sound or undamaged What better example for our children than to be people of integrity! When I am a person of integrity I will…
* be 100% honest, never even a little white lie * be the same person in every situation * never vary from what I know to be true * always see right as right and wrong as wrong * be trusted to do what I say I will do To me, these are the choices a person of integrity will make! Mr. Pence has set the perfect example of why we make those choices before we need to! However, I also understand that bad things can happen to good people who make good choices. Even when that happens and life can seem unfair, we still have a choice to make concerning how we respond to every situation.
The April parenting article talks about being FEARFUL about things in our life or PREPARING so we have less problems. This is a PERFECT example of how to avoid problems. Mr. Pence DID IT! Take a look at those strong words in that description -
firm, steadfast, high moral principles, complete, sound and undamaged These are such strong, descriptive words. Who would not want their children to be described this way? The best part is that we don’t need to be divided by parties; we can be united on principle. I truly believe American’s value politicians with integrity!
The consequences of the story about Mr. Pence may have had something to do with his approval rating being 47%. This poll came out just a few days before. He certainly appears to be a very decent man with integrity. Honestly, it gave me hope in an often bleak world /country to have a man in front of the whole world showing his devotion to his wife and family is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Mr. Pence! |

A fun outdoor group game – The hula hoop game
The hula-hoop game is great for a large party, such as a family reunion. It is simple. Divide the group into two with each circle having from 8-12 people. Everyone in each group hold hands. The purpose is to beat the other team moving the hula-hoop around the circle by stepping though it. It takes teamwork because while holding hands, each person will have to step through the hoop, pull it up and over the head and transfer it from one person to another. The first team to get the hula-hoop back to the starting person wins. Please tell others about shapingthechild.com - Thanks! |
