Scary Stuff Concerned Parents Need to Know - About Pornography and Hooking Up
A serious subject with tragic consequences!
You know, when I was a kid pornography wasn't considered a big deal. We knew teen age boys likely had a couple of "girly" magazines under their mattress. That is just what many teenage boys did! Well, things have certainly escalated since then and pornography has become a huge and extremely dangerous problem.
|
We are learning more and more about it's addictive nature. No surprise due to the internet and phones which have the availability of pornography popping up at any given time. This is extremely dangerous! Unfortunately, I believe there are too many parents who are not aware of the harmful behavior that it is!
|
To answer that question so you can warn your children, like other addictions, the more you see, the more you want!
Just as a thought can become an action and an action can become a behavior and then a behavior can become a habit, which eventually becomes an addiction! It's that easy! Too often, it is an unknown danger, and not understood how looking at pornography affects the brain!
The effect on the brain is the reason it becomes so scary . When people need more perverse behavior. Too often, sex with an adult is not exciting enough and that is how children become sexually molested and the eventual sex trafficking of our children.
Pornographic pictures are the same as taking that first drink of alcohol. The biggest difference is that people can choose to never take that first drink. If a person NEVER takes a first drink it is impossible to be an alcoholic. However, it is not easy to avoid pornography simply because a form of it can walk down the street! Even when I search "free images" on Google, seductive or pornographic pictures often appear, having nothing to do with the search term! It's really that easy, due to children's natural curiosity, to cause them to look and then to get hooked. We must teach them the risk of pornography! |
If you haven't already, please look into blocking televisions and computers. Unfortunately, there are so many smart phones out their, even if your child doesn't have one, their friends likely do! It is practically impossible for your children to not see some form of pornography.
Therefore, in my opinion, the only way to truly protect your children is to help them understand the dire consequences of looking at pornography. It is a very serious subject with very tragic consequences! Just one of the more dire consequences is the inability to bond! For more information on the inability to bond, watch for Parenting Articles coming in August 2017. These articles are a must read for you so you can help your children have great consequences thus creating a less problematic life. Who doesn't want that for their children? |
Information is finally available how porn can very easily turn into a very dangerous addiction.
Please watch this video. Tim Ballard is the blond man helping to rescue these children. He is the one who said that sex trafficking begins with pornography addictions.

Below is an excellent video that you can watch with your children . Several children discuss what they can do to be able to avoid pornography. I am currently working on getting this video here, however, for now, you can just copy and paste the link below to view this excellent video.
This video opens the door to have a great conversation with your children. Parents, it may feel awkward, however, it will feel much more awkward and frankly, painful to sit down and talk with your children after they have some kind of pornography or sexual addiction. These addictions have extremely sad and very scary consequences! Be a strong parent and teach them how do deal with the extremely difficult problems in our lives today! Please protect them!

4/18/2016 9:14 pm Jane - Just wanted to comment on your pornography blog. I find it very scary indeed that every time I check my email or go on to watch a video on youtube there are a mirade of suggested side tracks that can lead one to places they don't want to or shouldn't go. I feel we are in a very challenging time and we need to teach our children of the dangers that lurk around the corner with out being so uptight that we create the curiosity that will drive them to see what we are so concerned about. Teach them with love and correct principles and they will grow strong... Rick

4/20/2016 08:01:47 pm Hello Rick,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. One of the scariest statistics I have run across is that 75% of adults don't believe pornography is a problem! I I believe THAT alone is a huge problem! That is exactly why I knew I needed to write this article. Thank you, Rick for not being one of those 75% parents. The more I read concerning pornography addictions, the more terrified I get for families. It is a horrific addiction that leads to the destruction of too many families due to difficulty attaching to humans once addicted! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Jane E.
